Yo DC ravers — what's good?

It's Independence Day weekend, and the city's still finding time to dance between fireworks and heat advisories. Nü Androids owns Friday three ways — Murda Beatz flips into a house set at Culture, Bontan works the late shift at Vera, and Nü's launching something new with Space Between, a jazz house and lounge-sounds series easing you into the weekend at Tigres. Over at Echostage, Twinsick brings the Home of the Rave with Surf Mesa in support. Saturday's the real split — Mind Against transforms BETTE at Berhta into an audiovisual thing, while Detroit legend DJ Minx takes over the Auto Shop's industrial warehouse for Resolute's July 4th. Sunday winds it down with Monkey Safari closing out Sunday Love at Flash, wellness session included. Plan your Metro rides — it's free after 5pm on the 4th, and downtown's locked down for the fireworks.

New series alert: Nü Androids is launching Space Between this Friday at Tigres — a new jazz house and lounge-sounds series built to ease you into the weekend rather than run you into the ground. Nayef + Blindstares are behind the decks, and the whole thing's designed as a third space, so no late-night pressure, just a good early one. 7–10:30PM, and it's a No Phones Club, so this is the rare Friday you can actually be present for a set from the first note.

Gremlin tip: Culture and Vera Cocina are basically neighbors in the NE cluster, so the Murda Beatz-into-Bontan hop is an easy one — both lean into groove-heavy house for most of the night.

Gremlin tip: It's a National Special Security Event downtown — road closures start today through the 5th, and there's a heat advisory through the 4th. Hydrate before you're on any rooftop (Azure, Eyezic's Flash slot). Metro's free after 5pm.

Afters: DJ Minx at the Auto Shop is the marquee move — a proper warehouse night from a Detroit original, with local vendors and an art exhibition built in. If you want techno till sunrise, Lollipop at La Fabrica runs to 7am.

This is a heavy holiday weekend — heat advisory through the 4th, plus National Mall security screening and road closures starting today. If you're heading downtown before hitting the clubs, budget extra time.

The NE cluster (Culture, Vera Cocina, Berhta) stays the easiest home base if you're bouncing between Friday's Nü Androids nights.
